Municipal Traffic Waterproofing Solution

Municipal traffic waterproofing is a crucial task that directly affects the durability, safety, and operating costs of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, tunnels, and high-speed railways.

Bridges, tunnels, and other structures will undergo deformation under the action of loads and temperatures. Waterproof design (especially material selection) must be able to adapt to this deformation and avoid failure due to cracking.

Precautions for Selecting Materials

Choose Reliable Brands and Products

Priority should be given to selecting well-known brand products that have been extensively tested in engineering practice and have a good reputation.
Strictly review the quality certification documents of materials (such as certificates of conformity and inspection reports), and conduct on-site sampling and re inspection according to regulations.

Common Material Types and Applicable Scenarios

Roll materials: such as modified asphalt waterproofing rolls (SBS, APP), polymer waterproofing rolls (PVC, TPO). Suitable for large-scale flat base layers, such as roadbeds and bridge decks.

Coatings: such as polyurethane waterproof coatings, polymer cement waterproof coatings (JS), and spray polyurea. Suitable for base layers with complex shapes, such as tunnel lining and irregular structures.

Rigid waterproof materials: such as permeable crystalline waterproof coatings and waterproof mortar. Commonly used for structural self waterproofing or waterproofing of the back water surface.

The Waterproofing Membrane You May Need

Precautions During Construction Process

Grassroots Treatment Is a Prerequisite

The grassroots must be sturdy, flat, clean, and free from visible water. An uneven base layer can lead to hollowing of waterproofing membranes and uneven coating thickness.
All internal and external corners should be made into circular arcs to facilitate the installation of waterproof layers.

Strictly Follow the Construction Process

Waterproof membrane construction: Ensure sufficient overlap width, reliable hot melt or welding quality, and avoid virtual welding and missed welding.

Coating construction: Ensure that the coating is applied multiple times, the thickness is uniform, and there are no omissions. Wait until the previous coat is completely dry before proceeding with the next coat of construction.

Detail node enhancement processing: For joints, pipe roots, and other parts, additional layers must be added first, which is the focus of quality control.
